I know that most of us distrust advertising and have negative vibes for all of those marketers out there trying to get us to be consumers, but I have to say that I really LOVE some of the successful ad slogans that come across the air-waves. From a sales perspective, they certainly have not made me buy their products, but from a heart centered approach they have been wildly successful.
My favorite is still Nike’s “Just Do it!” Just take that first step and do something. Stop letting fear get in the way and step up into your challenge. Take a breath and just do it.
Bud Light has the “Here we go!” campaign. It was probably inspired by the Nike commercial, but with a stronger focus on enjoyment. It carries that same emotion of stepping through the doorway into something new – and in this case, it is implied that it is going to be fun.
There are also the bits from pop culture that are dancing around in my head at the moment – songs like “Let It Go” from the movie Frozen or Pharrell’s “Happy”.
It is so cool to have the field around you get in sync with exactly what you need to hear. (I’m sure that it is actually the other way around, but I haven’t yet completely let go of my egocentric mind.)
In January I declared 2014 – The Year of Collaboration. In February, with the Lunar New Year I committed to an exciting new project. And at the beginning of June I will be opening the doors to share it with the world. I “knew” it was going to be a wild ride, but I have to admit to being quite surprised by the breadth of the adventure so far.
The quality of the experience is something that I didn’t know that I didn’t know. And now I am getting a peak at this whole new world that has been here all along, just waiting for me to let go and just do it!
