Have you ever thought about how lonely it is at the top?
Of course, there really is no such thing as “the top” or “alone” but we live in a world that promotes being better than our competition, being tough and rising to the top. And of course there are a lot of people that “feel” alone no matter how successful they might be.
This perception of separation recurs frequently for me. It comes around again and again as I clear and uplevel this particular emotional pattern. The good news is that the process is now only a few minutes long where it used to take weeks or even months to get back to center.
And somewhere along the way I realized that connection actually felt a heck of a lot better than separation. I mean in my body as a physical sensation. In business terms (how I am showing up in the physical world) this meant that collaboration was far more fun than being at the top! So now I have very little desire for anything BUT collaboration.
Yet, not everyone is ready to play in that particular sandbox. Are you?
I would love to hear how you find people to play with in a field that seems to be based on competition? How do you show up in collaboration in a world that rewards figuring it out, being the best, and limiting success to static measures of leadership?
